2011年２月　サンプル１kg届く、
2011年５月　６kgのドレッド羊毛が届く

そこから仕事が始まったのだが、すでに肘を痛めていたのでゆっくりと、
この汚毛についてたカンテツ吸虫にやられたし、
計算外のいろんな事件があり、洪水がありで、遅れに遅れ、
そして、今日。

ここでも、もう一度・・・・

糸にして、それから今度は吸虫退治で炊く。

で、巻いて編んで、まだ、とり切れてないゴミがあって、

最後に編んだ後、ピンセットで取るの。

だって、チクチクするからさ、

この行程もさることながら、毛が送られて来て箱を開けたときのカルチャーショックがね、

ショックだったわ、

そのうんと昔、腸詰めを作りたくてホルモン屋に頼んだら、

屠殺場からそのまんまの腸が届いた。あれ以来のショック。

どちらも、なかなか手に入らないが　これはちょっと如何なものかと、

一瞬も二瞬も手を出すのを躊躇した代物。

しかし、これだけの手間をかけてと思ってしまうが、

自分に出来る事の最たる物。これからこれを山人に伝えよぉと思う。

タイの北からやってきた大量の水は、

これまた記録的な大雨と共に海に流れるべくやって来ています．

その水はバンコクに到達していますが、

有り難い事に、我が家には未だ到達していません。

しかし、洪水に対する備えをするために多大な時間と労力を使っています。

私の羊プロジェクトは次の三つの理由でおくれています。

1.　今年の始めは肘の痛み。

2.　日本からの放射能避難母子受入れ。

3.　そして、今回の洪水。

願わくば、これ以上プロジェクトに支障が出ない事を願います。

少し前になる話だが、

4/28にイーベイで電動紡ぎ機をサーチしたら手頃な物がこの国にあったと書いた。

連絡を取ってその人、スチャートさんに会いに行って来た。

彼は30過ぎの若い人で、新興住宅地に一軒家を買って住んでいた。

聞くと、親はアユタヤにいて、そちらに何の工場だかがあるらしい。

自分で電動紡ぎ機を作って世界に向けて売っていると、

使わせてもらった。

肝蛭　【Fasciola gigantica】
世界各地に分布し、ウシやヒツジなどの家畜の胆管に寄生して大きな病害を与える。
日本の肝蛭はヨーロッパに分布するものよりも体長が2～3倍ほど大きく（5～6ｃｍ）、
巨大肝蛭と呼ばれる。
ウシの消化管や肝臓の生食により、ヒトにも感染する。症状は上腹部痛や発熱など
を起こすが、死に至ることはほとんどない。
ちなみに肝蛭の虫卵は150～190μｍで、寄生虫の卵の中で最も大きい。

かなりダメージヘアーも使いました。

なんと言っても年４回刈る短さに泣きました。

埃とも言わないよぉな1cmあるかないかの短いヘアーがぱらぱらと落ちてきます。

この量が半端ではない。

汚れ的にはドレッド羊が凄かったが、こちらはこの短いヘアー。

次回、この羊の長い毛で挑戦です。

紡毛中も毛埃が凄く出るため、勿論、室内では無理である。

丁寧の解しておくとでこぼこの少ない糸が出来るが、

少々あった方が糸に表情が出ていいのかもしれない。

気持ちとして、やはり、草の種やヒッツキムシの残骸は嫌だなぁ、

出来るならば、1日50g、仕上げて行きたいなぁ、

弾力はあまりないのです。短く切られているためか、ヘアーが多いです。
洗いながらアメリカセンダン草の種を取り、解しながらアメリカセンダン草の種を取り、
紡ぎながらアメリカセンダン草の種を取ったのでほとんど糸の中には入っていませんが、
繊維が短いのと相まって撚りがかかり過ぎてあまりいい糸ではありません。

新情報：友達のヒロシさんの友達の友達さんがインドで紡ぎ車を作らせて日本で売っているらしい。

5000円ほどで出来ると聞く。今度いくらで買えるのか聞いてみよぉ、

てか、今度、その友達の友達さんがタイにくるんだったら紹介してもらおう、

ちなみに、友達のヒロシさんと友達さんはこの業界人ではない。

ドレッド羊の毛は1kg送られてきましたが、処理後、350gありません。

半分以上が泥と脂だった。

これだった。

これを見たときはどぉしよぉかと思った。

臭いは羊ではなく、動物園のふれあい牧場に居るヤギ。

しかし、これだけ固まるには長さと細さが必要ではないか？

兎に角、

始めた。

脂と土で固まっている。

手がつけられるぎりぎりの温度のお湯に犬シャンプー、

そのまんま冷えるまで、3時間。

脂の固まりは取れきっていないため、再度、同じことの繰り返し。

そしてぬるま湯で濯ぐ。

脱水機にかけて天日干し。

どうだ、思っていた通り以上によかった。

この前のはえらく短くてやらかい糸は出来にくい。

案外、アメリカセンダン草羊より解しやすい。

時々、汚れの中に隠れてとても柔らかい毛が出て来る。期待が持てる。

兎に角、この羊がいったい、どれだけ毛刈りをしていないのかとか、

何頭いて他もこんなのかとかとか、知りたい情報は山ほど。

でも、山には電波が切れ切れで話が出来ないのです。

嬉しくなって、残り半分の毛も今夜洗っている。

1kg、送ってもらったが、半分は脂と泥と糞。

明日、残りを濯いで解すのだ。

開ける前から凄い匂いです。

これまた　あまりのドレッドにショック！

まず、白い羊のはずです。固まっています。とっても・・・・

かなり長い間切られていなかったよぉです。

ヒッツキムシはついていませんでしたが、

悲しいほどにドレッド。

残念ながら私の知ってる限り、こんなに臭いのは始めてで、

外に置いておく。

2/11にやって来たヒッツキムシいっぱいの羊の毛を

少々、洗って解してカードをかけました。

カードでも取りきれないし、

繊維自体がえらく短いため、細い糸は無理かもしれない。

観察してみる。

まず、匂いは当たり前の羊の匂い。しかし、きつくない。

相当、土とゴミがついている。かなりフェルト化、暑い国だからかして　ラノリンが少ない。

ドーセットホーンと聞くが、私自身がその羊のことを知らないこともあり、何とも言えない。

洗ってみる。

日本での様に「モノゲン」なんてないから、何と言われおうと兎に角、犬用のシャンプーを使う。

手が入るぐらいのお湯にシャンプーを入れて毛を浸ける。アメリカセンダングサとオナモミが黒くなるほどついている。あまりのゴミと汚れに彼らがやっていたよぉに「もみ洗い」したくなる。

茶色の土がバケツのしたに溜まる。濯ぐ。このフェルトをどぉしたらよいのか？　自分で始めたことながら途方に暮れる。ほってしまおうか、いやいや、ここまで送ってくれている人が居る。待ってくれている人が居る。洗いながら・・・・、水の中で解して行くと痛みは少ないのではないか？

やってみよぉ、

まるで、繭から真綿を作るような感じでフェルトを湯の中で広げて行きます。

気が遠くなる。

思っていたよりアメリカセンダングサが凄い。明日までこのまま浸けておこう。

ヌイさんの所の羊はまだ、刈っていないそうな、ま、慌てんでもいいけれど、

それにしても、刈り方が悪い。

根元から刈っていない。だから毛が短い。時期もはっきりしていない。

ここはタイだから、送ると言ってもいつになるのやらと思っていたよ、

そしたらいきなりこの箱が・・・・、昼前についた。

そして、ヌイさんの所じゃなかった。

違う牧場から、話は3カ所からまとめて送るということでしたが、

ドーセットホーンと聞いていたが、かなりヘアー（剛毛）が多く、

兎に角、飼い方も毛狩りもまともでないため汚いが、

始めてのタイの羊の毛です。感激！！！

Wool project, which began to improve the lives of hill tribe women,
In order for the success of it, we want to help both the skills and facilities.

Introduction

I spun the yarn.

In my college　my major was textiles. I had studied bleaching of cotton, floss silk and wool. I had learned traditional method of hemp from Nara Tsukigase.

For last 20 years, I have been spinning “wool”; I have been spinning the yarn still after I moved to Thailand.

The wool has been imported to Kyoto for 24 years from NZ, where my sons are living now.

Last year, "Siam La Lanta" had held during the beginning of August 2010 at the art market. I had been asked by my friend in Thailand to demonstrate “wool spinning workshop.

Recently we can see many people began knitting in Thailand and we thought "There might be a chance to introduce the spinning", but we never expected that a lot of people saying “I do not know wool" to us.

Thailand imports a lot of wool and wool are so expensive and cumbersome. Therefore I started searching for the place where the sheep are, in Thailand instead.

We have been to Chiang Mai "Do-imon-rai" and met Ms. Nui. She has been working at Queens Project.

She came to Bangkok for the event to be held for the Queen’s birthday on 12 August 2010 and we made to see her wool.

Wool in Thailand

Certainly they had so many kinds of sheep threads. Some are relatively soft, but the wool was in terrible condition; treated sloppily. I asked her how they are being looked after. She replied that there was no one taking care of. I could reach the original wool source, but it was sadly dread wool.

She asked us join them and educate the workers, but obviously I don’t know how we can support them.

Situation in Thailand, as 2010.08.12

a). shaving sheep hair several times a year, close-cropped with scissors, wash and dry hair, but claimed to unravel the yarn, the work actually split. At this stage, wool was rag.

b). A traditional old drum card was used; most of them were made by Ashford, NZ. However, the tools were not used correctly.

c) Wool machine with big iron from India to mimic the soft yarn is not suitable. If you put to spin rotation hardly as same as cotton and you make wool short-fiber in this machine.

They can use only single yarn because their wool was damaged and they made their wool as same as rope.

Their knitting was not beautiful and the fabric was hard and distorted. The wool had become a bed pad.

d) The project was subjected Director of non-formal education center Chiag Mai. The target is to support the hill tribe people.

They might have a working house and sheep were kept at about five places. The population of sheep is even not known.

Situation of the wool around the world

Currently, there are situations such many consumers can buy synthetic fleece easily. Then they don’t like wool, because the wool is uncomfortable. Many famous wool technologies are spread and traditional wool industry was thriving. On the other hand, a new industry in another country has built. We can see the new wool supplier from Africa.

Conclusion

If the Queen’s sheep project had a good Guidance and a leader, they will surely to make good wool. Thailand will soon become a one of the famous supplier of wool. We can support "One Village One Product" in Chiang Mai.

私は糸を紡いでいます。

大学では染織を専攻し、奈良晒の苧績（月ヶ瀬奈良晒保存会）に始まり、綿、真綿、羊毛と学びました。現在に至るまで二十数年、続けていたのは「羊毛」で、このタイに来ても糸を紡ぎ続けています。使用する羊毛は日本のローウールの老舗「スピンハウス　ポンタ」とNZから直接購入しています。

昨年、バンコクの「サイヤムラランタ」というアートマーケット第一回目開催時、タイ友人に依頼されて「羊毛の糸紡ぎワークショップ」をしました。最近のタイ社会で、編み物をする人が目につきだしたので「糸紡ぎを紹介するいいチャンスかもしれない」と少し期待したものの、人の反応は主に「羊毛はわからない」でした。

この国の羊毛は全てがインポートで高額になり扱いにくい。国内で手に入らないか探し始めました。そしてチェンマイの「ドイモンライ」という所の責任者ヌイさんまでたどり着き、それが「ロイヤルプロジェクト」に関係している所までわかりました。

王女さまの誕生日の催し物で羊毛を披露。いいタイミングで彼女に会い聞き取りが出来ました。

確かに羊の種類は比較的柔らかい糸が可能な種類ですが、羊毛の扱いがぞんざいで酷い状態。　聞くと、指導者はいないという。ここまで辿り着いたものの、ドレッドな羊の毛に悲しくなりました。

「指導に入ってほしい」と依頼されるも今一、方法がわからない。

2010.08.12 聞き取りと様子

＊羊の毛狩りは年に数回、ハサミで虎刈り、もみ洗い洗毛で乾かした後、糸をほぐすと称していましたが、実際は裂くような作業。この段階で羊毛はぼろぼろになっています。

＊最もトラディッショナルなNZ製アッシュフォードの古いドラムカーダー使用。しかし、道具が充分使いこなされていません。

＊紡毛はインドの紡毛機物をまねて作られたもので、繊維の短い綿と同じようにして回転を激しくかけて紡いでいます。これは鉄で作られていて柔らかい糸作りには不向きです。（以前に同じ紡毛機でためしたことがあります。）糸は単糸を使用、編み上がった物は美しくなく、固く、生地が歪んでいます。

簡単な話、切れ切れの痛んだ羊毛を細いロープのように紡がれた糸でまた、ほぐせなかった羊毛は布団綿になっていました。

このプロジェクトはDirector of non-formal education center Chiabg Mai　が取りまとめていています。チェンマイの山岳民族支援が目的で、羊は五カ所ほどで飼われて紡毛の作業所ある模様で、羊の頭数、携っている人数などの詳しいことはこのセンターでもわかっていないとの話です。

現在、世界的にフリースやそれに類する化繊が手軽に買える状況にあり、羊毛離れが進んで、羊毛業が盛んであった地域の技術が荒んで来ています。反面、アフリカやこのタイなど今までに羊毛に関係のない国で新たな産業が生まれようとしています。

山岳民族の女性達の生活向上のために始まったこの羊プロジェクト、

それを成功させるべく、施設を充実させ技術を習得などの援助をしていきたい。

2011.01.13　バンコクのジャイカへお話を聞きにと聞いてもらいに、

内容：日本の認識としてタイは後進国ではないという見解。

以後、日本からの支援は老人介護などの先進国が抱える問題に集中するらしい。

よって，山岳民族、少数民族、女性などのキーワードは引っかからないことになる。

チェンマイ領事館の井上氏に相談してはどうか？と言われる。

井上氏は以前ジャイカに居られた方で支援関係に精通されているとのこと。

同時にNGP、NPO関係にもあたってみてはと、

体よく断られたのだ。

以前この地でNGO会計をしていたRちゃん、プチホテルの女主人Kさんに同伴願う

内容：こちらの思いを話せども、やんわりお断り。

おおむね、このような運動は成功していない。搾取する人間を作って終わる。

で、まず、混紡に出来ないかと綿とおシルクを探し始めた。

バナナンさんがギグさんを紹介してくれて、

彼はオーガニックコットンと羊の管理をしているヌイさんを紹介してくれた。

兎に角、インポートの羊の毛は高いから・・・・

ディアがヌイさんに連絡を取る。

何とか、8/12　王女さまの誕生日にバンコクで会うことが出来た。

あちらの様子は持って来ている物で判断する。

こちらの話もあんまりわかってない。

コンパクトな紬車がいるよなぁ、

それにしても話はゆっくりと進む。

始めては何だったか覚えているかな？

ず〜ッと昔にさかのぼる。

織りをしていた。糸を草木染めもしていた。でも、糸は作っていなかった。

作りたかったよ、

作り方を知らなんだ、

友達が講習会やら何やらに、行きたかったけどお金がなかった。

しかも、パーちゃんはそんなことには寛大ではなかった。

ほんとうは卒業後、欧州へ渡ってボビンレースをしたかった。

そんなこと許されるはずがなかったよ、

で、交通事故でくらい時代が来て７年。

終わった後、私はエアロビクスと洋裁をしていた。

まだ、糸を紡いでは居ない。

パートナーが見つかる半年前、ムーミンに糸紡ぎを教えてもらった。

電動の糸紡ぎ機を買った。

アッシュフォードのも買った。

がんがんと紡いだ。その頃、ポンちゃんと友達になった。

スピンハウス　ポンタ　主催

結婚した頃、スピンドルを何所にでも持ち歩いて紡ぐ。

焦茶色のセーターをパートナーに編んだが、今はそれが何所にあるのかわからない。

始めてのスピンドルで紡いで作ったセーターなのに、大事にはしてくれなかった。

その後、ひたすら紡ぎ子供の、自分の、友達のを編んだ。

月ヶ瀬の奈良晒伝承館で「芋うみ」からひととおり学んだよ、

ずっとそれがずっと続いている。

2000年、タイに引っ越した。

紬車は持ってこなかった。数年後、持って来た。やめれなかった。

羊の毛は時々、ポンちゃんから送ってもらっていた。

ずっと、羊の毛を触っていた。
